I just received clarification from CPCA regarding their supervision and direct client contact (DCC) hour requirements. While our school is approved by CPCA, they do not accept any Supervision or DCC hours completed during any counselling program, including ours. These hours can only be accumulated after graduation.

This was unexpected news, as we were only informed of this policy today.

Here’s a breakdown of CPCA’s post-graduation hour requirements:
150 hours of clinical supervision
250 hours of direct client contact
200 hours of professional practice related to clients
(Total: 600 hours after graduation)

If you're planning to pursue CPCA membership, please be aware that these hours must be completed independently after graduating from our new Counselling Skills program.

For more details, visit CPCA’s website.

⚠️ This policy applies only to CPCA and does not affect ACCT requirements.
